Advanced assumptions
Before you price your membership
- Price from the creator withdraw value Telegram documents, not from the buyer's Star purchase price.
- Channel and group Star subscriptions currently renew every 30 days.
- The Bot API currently rejects a subscription price above 10,000 Stars.
- If crawlers or buyers look for a price you cannot collect in Stars, a card or crypto checkout can still sell the same access.
How Telegram Star subscriptions work
- Subscriptions currently renew every 30 days (2,592,000 seconds). The Bot API says that period must always be used today.
- Price cannot exceed Telegram's current documented Star subscription limit of 10,000 Stars (from the Bot API range 1-10000).
- Stars can later be converted to a reward. Withdraw value is not the same as the money a user pays Telegram or an app store to buy Stars.
Creator value vs what buyers pay
Telegram publishes two figures for Stars. One is what a creator receives when withdrawing 1,000 Stars. The other is Telegram's buy-side equivalent of 1,000 Stars. Neither number is an App Store pack price, which varies by store, region, and VAT.
Example
Charge 770 Stars a month and the estimated creator reward is about $10.01, at the documented $13.00 per 1,000 Stars example. The buyer may well have paid more than that to hold those Stars.
This calculator prices memberships from withdraw value, because that is the number that reaches you. Pricing from the buy-side figure quietly overstates every projection.
What a paid Telegram channel could make
Estimated monthly creator value is Stars price × paying members × withdraw value per Star. At 770 Stars and 250 members, that is about $2,502.50 per 30-day period on the documented example rate. Fragment conversion to TON, holding periods, and later exchange fees are outside this quote.
If Stars limits or app-store rules do not fit the price you need, price the membership in dollars and sell it on card or crypto checkout. Expired members can still be removed when access is tied to payment state. See MemberPilot pricing and the monetization guides.
Common questions
How many Telegram Stars should I charge?
Set a Stars price whose estimated creator withdraw value meets your target per member. Telegram currently bills channel and group subscriptions every 30 days, and the Bot API caps the price at 10,000 Stars. Use the calculator above. Do not copy a competitor's Star sticker without converting it to creator value first.
How much is a Telegram Star worth to creators?
Telegram documents creator value as the USD received when withdrawing Stars. The published client-config example is $13.00 per 1,000 Stars, or about $0.013 per Star. Buyers often pay more than that to acquire Stars through app stores. Those two numbers are not the same.
How do Telegram Stars subscriptions work?
A Telegram Stars subscription is a recurring Star charge for chat membership. The Bot API currently requires a 2,592,000 second period, which is 30 days, and a price between 1 and 10,000 Stars. When the period lapses without payment, Telegram can drop the member from the chat.
How much can a paid Telegram channel make?
Estimated creator revenue is Stars price times members times the withdraw value per Star. At 770 Stars and $0.013 per Star, 100 paying members is about $1,001 per 30 days before any later TON or exchange conversion. It is a planning estimate, not a payout guarantee.

MemberPilot handles the subscriptions, invites, renewals and removing expired members, so the only thing left to decide is the price.
